Manual NYC is a photography company based in New York that specializes in analogue photography. Unlike most modern camera brands that focus exclusively on digital photography, Manual is dedicated to film photography and has its own lineup of films and reusable film cameras. The high demand for the analogue taste of their film photography in fashion and social media has led them to collaborate with globally renowned brands such as Nike. In 2021, Manual approached us to design an iconic camera to enhance their product line.

The MNL MK-1 is a premium film camera concept that incorporates anodized aluminum with ergonomic matte silicone. Each button and dial is meticulously-designed, paying close attention to details and proportions, and the use of transparent plastic materials evokes a retro-futuristic vibe that contrasts with the camera's film-based functionality.
